History of "The Pound"

The Cape Neddick Lobster Pound - Harborside Restaurant, known locally as "The Pound", was opened in 1959 by the Young Family. It has a long standing tradition of serving exceptional food and drink in a setting unmatched throughout the local areas.

Off the beaten path, overlooking the Cape Neddick Harbor and Tidal River, it has been a place where locals gather for sunsets, paddlers and kayakers float by, children skip rocks, seagulls soar and lobstermen bring in the daily catch.

Guests can grab a seat at the bar, take in the view while enjoying your meal in our dining room, relax on one of our decks overlooking the water, settle in by the fireplace, or celebrate your special event with family and friends.

In the Spring of 2023, The Pound opened under Via Maine, a local family owned restaurant group who currently operates Pepper's Landing, The New England House, Sea Salt Restaurant, and Batson River.
